Trip to Tekapo

On Thursday 11th of August the Year 1s,2s,3s,and 4s went to Tekapo.  We left school at 8 o'clock in the morning.  We went on the Orari bus with Miss O and Tre and Mrs McCully.

When we got there the first thing we did was listen to a safety talk about all the rules.

Next we had something to eat for our morning tea.

After that we had to go and get our helmet and our skates so that we could go on the ice and be safe.

There were metal stands and penguin things to help you skate well.  There were lots of big kids and parents to help us too.

After we had skated for along time we had to stop and take our gear off so we could eat our lunch.

Next it was time to get changed for swimming.

The hot pools were hot.  We swam in the water.  Mrs McCully gave us piggy back rides.  There was a water playground.  There was a button that you push on and then the water turns on and it feels like someone is scratching your back.

There was steam rising up from the pools.  We saw bubbles in the water too.

Finally it was home time.  We jumped on the bus and had a sleep on the way home.

Our trip to Tekapo was amazing.  We want to go again.

    1. The hot pools had a really cool play area, with lots of splashy water. What was the snow tubing like?
